My 15 Favorite Travel Experiences in Ireland

Posted on March 18, 2015 by This Wild of Mine • 22 Comments

In honor of St. Paddy’s Day, I thought that I would share my favorite Ireland experiences with you. The Ireland I love is mossy single-lane roads, small pubs where the whole town comes out for the live music, overgrown roofless castles, and soda bread with every meal. I keep going back to Ireland, because every time … Continue reading →

It’s been our tradition to take a picture with this wall when we go to the hospital where I had Bodhi. It is where I first heard his strong heartbeat, where I cried when I was advised to end the pregnancy, where I lived on chicken Caesar salads in a hospital bed for 4 weeks, where I agreed to take him out when his amniotic fluid dropped to zero, where I saw him for the first time through the incubator glass, and where we had his first cuddle and first bath. . And yesterday with great satisfaction, I attended my very last followup appointment there with my cardiologist. At the beginning of my pregnancy, I was told that due to congenital aortic dilation, my heart might not withstand the pregnancy. And yesterday, my cardiologist told me that my heart has been completely unaffected. You guys. Beautiful things happen when you listen to yourself. . This year has been one of the hardest years of my life. But it has been so incredible because I learned to trust my intuition and advocate for myself. If you are facing difficult things, make sure all the voices around you do not drown out the most important one—yours. . At the beginning of this journey, I wasn’t certain what the outcome would be, but I knew in my heart that the outcome would be what I needed. I guess my heart needed him. And the sweet reminder that when nothing is certain, anything is possible. ♥️😭🙌🏼♥️
Yesterday we were driving past a row of No Parking signs and Kai asked me, “Mom, why is the letter P not allowed to be here?” I giggled. I snorted. His innocence and sweetness delighted me. . And it reminded me of how very sweet and special this time is when they are so little. Because between the lack of sleep and the repetitive motions, I usually forget. They rely on me for every single thing 24 hours a day. I am the solution haver, snack dispenser, nose wiper, pants finder, back rubber, milk giver. It’s grueling. But I know it will not last forever. So more sink baths and snuggles and celebrations of these little things. Because one day they will be big things. ♥️ . So in case you needed this reminder today like me, find that sweetness. ♥️
Polar Express tickets: $$$ Matching jammies: $$ Gas: $ Literally running to the train like the McAllister family in Home Alone and making it with 72 seconds to spare: PRICELESS
Kai told me this week that every day is the best day since Bodhi has been home. #icanteven 😍😭🥰 He comes and talks to Bodhi, gets him to smile, and holds him like he’s the most precious being in the universe. It melts me! One guess for what our favorite present is this year... 🎁♥️ . >>>>>> . Cute wicker basket by @shoplovedua. This basket and tons of other cute ones are on sale for 25% off until tomorrow (link in bio). 🙌🏼♥️
Last year I thought I was a genius when I bought the boys’ Christmas Jammies in one size up so they could wear them two years in a row. Buuuuut I didn’t count on the fact that we would have another teeny pajama wearer this Christmas! 😍 Or the fact that my hubby would secretly get rid of his because it made him “too sweaty.” 😳😂 So this is what we got! #mamatried #almost #matchingfamily #happydecember 🎄 P.S.—Peep all the ornaments concentrated on the bottom of the tree! I almost want to leave them there because it’s so sweet. Almost. 😬🙈 Are you on team rearrange-the-ornaments-after-the-kids-go-to-bed or team leave-them-be? 😂🙌🏼😏
